Carol

Having trained as a secretary, I worked at Glaxo in Barnard Castle for many years prior to raising my family. I first entered into the world of travel in 1995, working for the Northern Echo newspaper in Darlington.  I was responsible for the day to day running of their Reader Holiday Department and developed the business into a very popular and thriving business for the readers.  In 2005, an opportunity arose to work in my local Travel Agency in Barnard Castle.  I started to work as a Senior Travel Consultant and then took over the Managerial role in 2008 and the rest is history.

I have had the opportunity to visit many wonderful places during this time, experiencing so many different cultures and creating some very special memories, from swimming in the Great Barrier Reef, to flying by helicopter over Niagara Falls and cruising around the Swedish Archipelago

Countries visited:

Mauritius, Australia, Hong Kong, Caribbean, Canada, Dubai, Iceland

Cruising – Adriatic, Mediterranean, Swedish Waterways, Caribbean

I am an avid fan of European City Breaks and have visited Barcelona, Berlin, Salzburg, Monaco, Dublin, Reykjavik and many more

The only thing I have never done is ski-ing but there’s time yet!!!!

Favourite destination:

For a very special birthday, I went to Mauritius.  My stay on Mauritius was absolutely magical.  With endless pearl white sands and calm clear waters it was the perfect place to relax with a cocktail waiting to seeing the most wonderful sunsets ever – it was paradise!!!

Where next:

There are so many places I still want to visit – on my bucket list is South Africa, New Zealand and Switzerland and Austria – the World’s my Oyster

The best thing about working in travel is every day is different and the buzz I get when I have arranged the holiday of a lifetime is totally unmeasurable – I am so lucky to work in such a passionate and interesting industry

Last holiday:

Jersey – June 2021

For an island 9 miles x 5, there is so much to do, see and enjoy. From the golden sands of St Brelades to visiting a wine estate, exploring the cobbled high street of St. Aubins and taking a gentle stroll around Jersey Zoo – this island is just perfect for a visit.

Travel tip:

Treasure every single second and make memories that will last forever
