Carolyn

I have worked with the Travel & Tourism industry for over 30 years.  I joined Kyle Travel in 1998 which, as a specialist tailor made agency, has afforded me many memorable and exciting travel experiences.  It’s vital to me that anyone who walks through our doors feels understood,  well looked after and wanting to return year after year, so offering a top flight level of customer service is of the upmost importance. I have also recently taken over responsibility for the office Marketing which has been a new, exciting opportunity for me, arranging live events to meet new and existing clients has been immensely enjoyable and I hope to continue to build on that.

My many years in travel have made me feel confident in matching the right holiday to my clients wishes and often dreams, understanding that most of us spend all year looking forward to our holidays so it’s imperative to listen carefully to what my clients want and building that for them so they leave feeling not just happy and excited but confident they came to the right travel agent.  I love building exciting travel itineraries and seeing clients faces as I make suggestions that will turn a holiday into a dream trip with ever lasting memories for them and their families.

I feel incredibly lucky to have travelled extensively across the globe but I still have more countries on my wish list.  There is nothing like travel, it lifts the spirits, soothes the soul and warms the heart and mind.

I have body boarded down sand dunes in Australia, enjoyed a traditional Hawaiian Lu’au on the Beautiful Island of Maui, enjoyed banquets fit for a queen in Venetian palaces and looked upon the majesty of the Grand Canyon from the air.  I have been fortunate enough to enjoy so many magical travel moments and hope in the future to have many more.

Countries visited:

UK  – I have toured Scotland, regularly spend Summers in Cornwall. I can often be found walking in the Lake District and Paddle Boarding on its wonderful lakes with my family.

Europe – France, Paris & Euro Disney, Switzerland, Spain, Sweden, Austria, Madeira, Tenerife, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Majorca, Italy, Cyprus, Rhodes, Iceland

Cruising – Mediterranean on Large and Smaller vessels

Long haul – USA, Florida, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Maui, Hawaii, New York, Australia, Sydney, Brisbane & Tangalooma Island

Indian Ocean – Maldives & Mauritius

Caribbean – St Lucia, Antigua, Dominican Republic

Favourite destination:

Italy !! I feel a total affinity for Italy, everything about it excites me and it has everything I love about travel.  Culture, Beauty, History & heritage, wonderfully colourful rolling hills, magnificent cities, amazing  food, Glorious Lakes and Mountains.

I have toured around Umbria to visit the towers in San Gimignano, eaten what is arguably the world’s best ice cream in the famous square of Sienna, Searched for St Francis in Assisi, thrown my coin into the Trevi fountain in Rome with a wish to return and wandered romantically across the floating bridges of Venice and still there is so much more of Italy I look forward to visiting in the future.

Where next:

There are so many and I don’t like to limit myself but…..

Japan for the Blossom in Spring South Africa, I’d love to do a safari with my family

I would love to sail on the Nile and Visit the Great Pyramids of Giza

Canadian Rockies because why wouldn’t you want to ?

Last holiday:

Last trip abroad was Iceland which is a truly magical place full of myths & legends, the scenery is like nothing I have seen anywhere else.  I went whale watching, bathed in the Hot Volcanic Springs of the Myvatn Baths with snow all around and hunted out the thunderous, Icy  Godafoss Waterfall.  I would recommend Iceland to anyone.

Last trip in the UK was Scotland, we drove over a thousand miles. Up in the mountains, visiting Reindeer, searching out the historic Battle of Culloden and eating amazing fresh sea food straight from the boat in Oban. I can’t wait to go back and plan to do some Island hopping.

Travel tip:

If you don’t have a credit card, apply for one before your holiday (especially for travel in the USA) It makes payment for items ie car hire, so much easier and its widely accepted across the globe. It’s also much safer than travelling with large amounts of cash.
