I started my travel career with A.T.Mays in 1983 after spending 7 years in shipping and airfreight sending cargo round the world and decided to swap this for sending people round the world.
We were taken over by Thomas Cook where I was a Manager for 28 years until redundancy. I then got the opportunity to work for the last 8 years at Kyle Travel in Yarm.
I love my job because especially in my line of work everyday is different, from booking a hotel in London to arranging trekking around the Himalayas.
We have a great team and we have all travelled extensively which is great for our customers.

Caribbean, USA, Europe, Mediterranean,Australia, South Africa,Middle East and India.
Favourite destination:
After being so fortunate to travel, my special holiday is at sea. The choices you have in cruising is incredible .
My photo is of me getting ready for the Captains party on the last night of a worldwide Fred Olsen cruise which took me to Abu Dhabi, Dubai,India and Goa.
Where next:
More of Italy. Florence is on my wish list and I intent to visit the ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum.
Last holiday:
Due to Covid restrictions a staycation in Northumberland discovering Holy Island , Hadrian’s Wall , and lots of little villages with local beers and freshly caught sea food.
It’s great to remember how much we have to offer in the U.K. too.
